The Project

A favourite among Vancouver locals, mahony offers a delicious west coast pub experience perfect for any occasion. Formerly known as Mahony & Sons, the company sought to move away from its traditional Irish pub identity in search of something more open, inclusive, and modern.

These designs were created on a sub-contract basis for Concerto Marketing, who were responsible for project management, brand strategy, and art direction.

The identity

Mahony needed a contemporary visual identity with a uniquely West Coast feel. The new logo was designed to be simple and clean, with highly rounded letterforms that convey friendliness and casual fun. The primary brand colour is a distinctive slate teal, inspired by Vancouver’s sea-to-sky landscape.

New menu designs were also created to reflect the pub’s updated food offerings.
